Machine Translation Post-Editing

In the last few years, machine translation technology has gotten exponentially better thanks to the implementation of dedicated neural networks. The translations provided by these engines are significantly better than those created by older statistical based translation engines, but they still aren’t perfectly fluent. To fill the gap between this cost-effective technology and fluent translation, LGO provides Machine Translation Post-Editing Services.

Editing Options

All projects are different, so we provide both light and full post-editing services. In general, light post-editing should only be considered for content that isn’t going to be seen by end-users. We suggest full post-editing for most projects.

MTPE Process

01. Upon your approval of the project, our MTPE team runs your source text through our neural network and creates a raw machine translation in minutes.

02. The raw translation is passed on to a language expert for either light or full post-editing. For light editing, a translator looks for segment-by-segment lexical and syntax errors. A full post-editing translator implements brand glossaries and reviews the document as a whole, ensuring fluency and context.

03. After a first round of editing, the translation is passed to another language expert for quality assurance and then delivered. From there, LGO promises an improvement window in which you can provide feedback for revisions!
